186 A Wet Afternoon in Bangkok

112-travel-teamJames and Renee departed about an hour out of Bangkok. They  convinced us that we should take a side trip to see “The Bridge Over the River Kwai.” His father was one of the forced laborers there during WWII so it’s a must for them.

Our first stop was KFC for a sandwich. Then as we stepped out the doors of the Station a young girl asked if we needed help finding a Hotel. She sort of hustled us to a Travel Agency. Cat was having a hard time with the guy there. I stepped out the door and into another just next door. The people there were great, the agent, Arm, really knew Bangkok. He got on the telephone and soon had us booked at Hotel Aurum, right on the river.

As we booked it began to pour rain. Arm told us that he would have Ken drive us in a van, at no extra cost. We felt close enough to them to call the next day and book the trip James had recommended, to the River Kwai.
