088 Danny Does Know BSB and Brunei

We’d stumbled upon a legend. Danny has been written up in lots of travel articles. Most impressive is his copy of a page from Lonely Planet that gave him rave reviews.

We were looking for spare batteries for our camerand mirrors for the bikes. Mirrors? Yes, in Brunei drivers sit o the right side and traffic flows along the left. Danny worked for a bicycle shop prior to his guiding career. He led us to the department store where we found camera parts then wrote down the bus to take to the bike shop and back then, in case we miss the shuttle, the bus that takes us near the Orchid. What a very nice guy. He did a very soft pitch about taking us to the Water Village then to see the Probiscus Monkeys. His price was more than those we’d seen posted at the hotel but, we wouldn’t be with a group. We’d have our own boat and world famous Danny as our guide. We booked him for tomorrow morning.

The trip to the bike shop was futile. They had one large mirror but we didn’t like its look. And what good was one? The manager called their other shop, they were out, too. So, another adjustment. When we get back to Orchid I will have to switch the mirors.
