042 Indah Hotel Takes Bikes

Another Winnie

Another Winnie

As the girl checked us in she gave Cat her card. She’d introduced herself as Joy but the card said, “Winnie.” Okay her name is Winnie but she prefers Joy.  As it worked out she became our new Winnie. Like Winnie in Taiwan, this Winnie-Joy was extremely helpful, even allowed the bikes into the room. Then, she worked on our move to Baguio. First the Bus Company. Joy found that the only bus available for the bikes would leave at 11:00 PM arriving at 6:00 AM in Baguio. Finding a room was another tough one as there’s a huge Flower Festival and all rooms were booked.

Ordering dinner we requested Oriental Salad. They said they didn’t have it then changed their minds. When we were served the staff at a nearby table of staff looked our dishes over then ordered the same. We joked with them then introduced ourselves. Julius told us that he could help with a room in Baguio. His friend manages a hotel there. Before we knew it he had us booked at the Microtel. We’ll make the move on Saturday night!

You know, Bob, I think of you and Jerry everytime one of these crazy guys tries to run us over. Actually not that bad. They are good drivers and really don’t go that fast. Only cost 7 Pesos to ride, what a bargain. Exchange rate now is 49 Pesos to $1.00. Of course the fumes and dust do take a toll.
