112 Off to BALI!

Foggy Flight to Bali

Foggy Flight to Bali

March 23, 2009, we’re off to Bali. A very convaluted flight that would take us north to Koala Lumpur then back south over a 8 hour period. Lucky for us we had flown to Cuba and experienced condensation. We boarded in a fog, flew 2 hours then 3 on the ground and another 3 hours to Bali. Landing at 10:00 PM, the worst time to try to find a place and transport. Cat booked a place through a Hotel Service. Then the Taxi Drivers flexed their muscle. Everyone was being quoted 50,000 Rupiah, about $5.00. The not so friendly dispatcher looked at the bikes and bags and said, “Too Heavy you pay 200,000 Rupiah.” Cat accepted the challenge. No deal so she went back to the Hotel guy. He took her to a car rental place. They were careful not to let the taxi guy see but took us in a nice, new van for only 100,000. God Cat loves a deal.

“Fog” in my cabin would freak the hell out of me. I imagine, however, that you two have seen it all – or just about – by now.

Pedal on! 🙂
