On the River Front

A grueling 15 hour bus ride and we arrived in Kuching at 1:00 AM. Thanks again to Julian who worked at the Hotel Margarita during it’s Holiday Inn days, we had a driver and deluxe view room waiting for us. Our first day was spent exploring the city. From the market place to a rocky boat ride river crossing. Met another intrepid traveler, Theodopolis, and explored the old garrison. The river front area is quite nice but once you’ve seen it, you’ve seen it.

Buddhist Temple in Rain

Though we’re near the end of the rainy season, as we walked it began to pour. This time we stayed dry, walking through the stalls of the city market. Rain enhanced the pungent smells of dried fish and spices from the shops.
