159 Room With a View

View Room

A hot day makes 68 Ks (40 miles) seem like a long ride. Just a few little hills but plenty of sweat. Pontian Kecil is a pretty non-descript little beach community. We rode to the coast and stopped at a restaurant adjacent to Hotel Pontian for cold drinks. The kind waiter suggested that there are other hotels but most foreign visitors stay at the Pontian. I said, “Well we’re foreigners so we’ll stay here.” He laughed out loud.

Bonanza, Cat found good wine at good prices in the adjacent Super Market. She bought a 2 day supply.  Back to the restaurant, decoded not a good idea to have wine there so ordered chicken burgers then wined and dined in.

Funny, we paid extra for the superior room with view. The room was somewhat less than superior and, as you can see, the view was limited to the hole inthe window blackout. Oh, we could see the beach by leaning out the windows on the street, too.

There are tables and they serve people seated in the median. There’s also a huge screen TV. They played cartoons, the music, chatter and laughter carried but didn’t keep theses two road weary road warriors awake.
