Traffic on the Mount
While enjoying the view and breakfast a couple of cyclists rode in. One took out a camera and shot pics of our bikes, loaded and leaning in the parking lot. Ashi has started a Cycling Club in Ubud. He and his son cycled up the steep this morning. His dream is to use his cycling team members to conduct bicycle tours around Bali. He’s enthusiastic and genuine. We hope that he gets his dream off the ground.
The bad news, he informed us that we have a pretty severe climb for the first 10 Ks this morning. He also warned us to be wary of traffic. The road is narrow and the down hill runs will be steep.
- Damn, Damn that Traffic Jam
Cat is bursting with energy and riding hard up the steep hills. We did have to push a time or two but she, who usually hates uphills was eating them up this morning.
The Temple is famous and draws lots of tourists. Tourists to us meant a terrible traffic jam as their huge buses tried to navigate the narrow highway. It took almost half an hour for us to pick our way through the mess.
