The street in front of the hotel is swarming with trikeshaws. There are tourists, most asian, and most hire these guys for a ride around historic Melaka.

Oh, not for us, since we only cycled 60 miles yesterday we chose to walk in the heat. The drivers are actually quite nice. One outgoing guy asked where we’re from. I offered to pedal him around then gave him one of our cards. Every time he past by he would call out, “Pat and Cat,” then laugh.

Most of this historic district dates from the Dutch Colonial times in the 1600s.
