February 21, 2009  In the midst of the organized chaos as we neared Kaohsiung a gal on the back of a motor scooter stared then waved. They sped off and in a couple of kilometers we stopped to look at our map. We recognized her because she was carrying a drink carton. She cautiously asked, “Can we help?” They tried to tell us how to find the Ambassador Hotel then gave up and said, “We take you.” They led us to the edge of the Love River then had us cycle on the bike path as they shadowed us on the street. At the hotel they came to the front desk and were very protective of us. Then he said, “Hotel is very expensive, we go to local food.” The local food turned out to be a hot dog stand. Food was so-so, conversation was GREAT!
