Beautiful Shrine

Sometimes beauty like this just pops up along the road. It was ealry morning and clouds hung low. We were near the coast and it was cool. Drawn by the sound of bells and chanting we turned in and enjoyed prayer and a spiritual setting. A nice way to begin a day of cycling. There are bus loads of the faithful that travel from Shrine to Temple.

Grand Temple

                               On a warm afternoon along Highway 1 we spotted the the ornate rooftop statuary from 2 blocks away and turned onto a side road to take a closer look. You can gage the size of this Buddhist structure by finding Cat and a couple of new friends, Allen and Kelvin in front of this Grand Temple. They asked if we were Buddhist. We told them that we are lucky, not affiliated with any religion so we can view all religions with an open mind. They were great young guys passing nearby on business, they stopped to pay respects.
