015 ON THE ROAD, AGAIN!!!

February 14, 2009.  Here we go again. We’re cycling south on the west coast of Taiwan. What a wondrous VALENTINES DAY gift we’re giving each other. It’s been 2 years and 11 months since we last mounted loaded bikes. A bit nervous today but sure that we will be fine. We’ll duck and dodge motor scooters and update Bicycling Boomers from the other end of the island.

Stick around as the PLOT THICKENS!!!

Hi Pat & Cat,
I’m going to be watching your ride and updating Joel as you go.
I admire both of you so much for the paths you have chosen to take.
You both have chosen to swim against the stream which isn’t the easy way.
I’m still down from my illness but my lap top is always in bed with me.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Love, Faith and Joel

Way to go! Have fun out there. I hope you have beautiful weather on this trip. I own a travel goods store outside of Philadelphia now. I can only travel vicariously through my customers at this point. I’ve added your website to my favorites. I’ll check in for updates religiously. Happy travels!

Good to see you two on the road again. Some how we think we will be waiting for you at an airport/train/bus station in some city some where. When you guys get to Malaysia please stop in and see our friend David, he lives in Parit Buntar, north of KL, most likely on your way to Thailand. He is one of those gems that you meet on the road.
Have fun, we are looking forward to watching your travels, you guys are amazing.

Good luck on your travels guys. I new the 9to5 would be a hard pill ot swallow after being foot loose and fanny free. I’m surprised it took 2plus years for you 2 to get back on the road again. Have fun and maybe i’ll see you on the road.

You two are too much fun! Best of luck as you get your bicycle equivalent of “sea legs” back. I’ll be reading intently from Washington, D.C. and I’ll make sure to connect you with my friend(s) in Singapore, as per our conversation.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the kind words Jeff. Keep a nose to the grindstone and maybe in 25 years or so you will go CRAZY, too.
