073 The Battle of Corregidor
This view from our Hotel was probably a fearsome sight to US troops in 1941. The Japanese had a gun placement on the far side of Bataan Mountain, across the bay. They could lob shells in at will. The US Army didn’t have guns with that range so they would just blast away at the front of the mountain and do little damage.
Most of the Big Guns are displaced. We’ll get to that in a minute. this is the only one we saw that looked as though it might still be functional.
Of course we had to clown around, a bit.
